About Pathways
Pathways is an online historical resource for Forgotten Australians, Stolen Generations and 'care'-leavers. It explores how people who have been in out of home (state) 'care' in Victoria construct their identity and make sense of the past. This online resource will open up new pathways to vital information for care leavers, making historical records more accessible.
Pathways is a product of the “Who Am I” research project- funded by an ARC linkage grant between the University of Melbourne, Australian Catholic University (ACU), The Department of Human Services (DHS), the Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) and 15 Community Sector Organisations, as represented by The Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare. The Chief Investigator, Professor Cathy Humphreys, is the Alfred Felton Chair of Child and Family Welfare in Social Work at Melbourne. Key researchers in the project come from the history and social work departments at the University of Melbourne and ACU, and archivists from the eScholarship Research Centre at University of Melbourne.
